The Aviation Diploma is a two-year flight training program delivered through Prairie College's Prairie Aviation Training Centre (PATC) in partnership with Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) of Canada. Training works toward Transport Canada commercial pilot licensing and rating standards, with an average student-to-instructor ratio of 4:1. Students train across a fleet that includes Cessna 172M, Citabria, Cessna R182, Cessna 210L, and Piper Seneca II aircraft, plus flight simulators, and fly in varied environments including cross-country routes, mountain terrain, and grass airstrips. The program includes tail-wheel training, upset prevention and recovery (aerobatic) instruction, and a multi-day cross-country excursion that can include a US border crossing. Graduates are prepared for careers as mission aviation pilots, charter pilots, flight instructors, cargo pilots, agricultural pilots, or regional and major airline pilots.
