Bachelor of Aviation Technology (Honours) (In-person)

Admission Requirements: DOMESTIC ACADEMIC ENTRY: an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or mature-applicant status, including six Grade 12 U or M courses with an overall average of at least 65%. Four required courses must each be completed with a final grade of 65% or higher and must average at least 70% between them: Grade 12 English (ENG4U), Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U), Advanced Functions (MHF4U) and Physics (SPH4U). Grade 11 U chemistry is recommended but not required. Admission is highly competitive - applicants are ranked on academic strength across those four courses and only the top-ranked are offered seats. AFTER ADMISSION, BEFORE STARTING: pass a medical examination with a Transport Canada designated Aviation Medical Examiner and meet Transport Canada's Category 1 physical and mental requirements; and hold no criminal conviction that would prevent an airport security clearance. A valid Canadian passport or a United States entry visa is strongly recommended so that flight training in the US is possible. Seneca notes that police criminal checks and drug testing are common industry practice for aviation employment. ENGLISH: every applicant must meet the Bachelor of Aviation English proficiency requirement; anyone who cannot must sit an accepted English test and send the result to ontariocolleges.ca. For Canadian applicants who need a test, Seneca publishes IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band under 6.0, PTE Academic 60, Duolingo 125, or TOEFL iBT with no skill under 4.5/6 (21/30). International applicants must present credentials assessed as equivalent to the Ontario prerequisites above - including six senior courses equivalent to Ontario university-preparatory credits at a 65% overall average - and meet Seneca's degree-level English standard: IELTS Academic 6.5 with no skill under 6.0, PTE Academic 60, CAEL 70 with writing no lower than 60, Duolingo 115-120, Cambridge English 176 with no skill under 169, or TOEFL iBT with no skill under 4.5/6 (21/30). Tests must be less than two years old. Seneca lists this program among the nine it will not give a conditional offer to through the English Language Institute, so an international applicant needs the English score in hand rather than a language-pathway offer.
