Electronics Engineering Technician is a two-year Ontario College Diploma at Sheridan College that prepares job-ready electronics engineering technicians. In the first year, students learn fundamental skills and concepts in electricity, electronics, digital principles, computers and programming, then apply that knowledge through the second year of study. Graduates understand the design, creation and operation of electronic devices, circuits and systems. The curriculum is developed by faculty with industry experience, including professors holding PhDs and PEng certification, supported by hands-on learning in labs updated with current technology. Graduates complete all academic requirements for professional certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT), and can progress directly into the third year of Sheridan's related three-year Electronics Engineering Technology advanced diploma; some graduates go on to run their own businesses or work as freelance consultants.
