Program details

Overview

Electronics Engineering Technology is a three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma at Sheridan College that builds on a common first two years shared with the Electronics Engineering Technician diploma before focusing on niche concepts and applications in the third year. Students study microcontrollers, wireless communication, programmable controllers, sensors, instrumentation, imaging and video systems, power electronics and control systems, with curriculum shaped by faculty industry experience and the program's Advisory Committee. As an advanced diploma student, learners are eligible for paid co-op placements between semesters that can provide up to one year of industry experience, and complete a capstone project presented to employers at an open house event. Mandatory co-op work terms are integrated into the curriculum, and graduates gain advanced technologist-level expertise in electronics engineering, building on the technician-level program's foundation.
