The Journalism program is an Ontario College Diploma delivered over four semesters across two academic years, totaling approximately 80 credits including a field practicum component. Coursework builds skills progressively through Reporting and Writing courses, video and broadcast production including news camera work and editing, audio news and podcast production, data journalism, and online news and digital design. Training takes place in Sheridan's HD-TV news studio, and students complete field placements with Canadian broadcasters as part of their practical training. The curriculum prepares graduates for career opportunities in digital media, radio, broadcast, print, television, public relations, marketing, and communications roles, with alumni working at outlets including CTV, CBC, the Toronto Star, and Hamilton Spectator.
