Visual and Creative Arts – Advanced is a three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma at Sheridan College built around studio-based fine art practice. Over six semesters, students strengthen skills in two-dimensional and three-dimensional design, observational and life drawing, colour theory, and painting, while a sequence of studio electives lets them develop a personal artistic direction. A Professional Practice course covers business fundamentals, self-promotion, and career-readiness skills for working artists, including preparing for exhibitions, applications, and freelance or gallery work. The program emphasizes hands-on studio practice supported by dedicated facilities and instruction from practising artists. Graduates are prepared for careers as visual artists, illustrators, and studio-based creative professionals, or for further study in art and design. Admission is based on Ontario Secondary School Diploma standing, including Grade 12 English, or mature student status, with selection determined by an applicant's six highest senior-level credits. The program is delivered on campus.
