Overview
Anthropology at St. Francis Xavier University is a Bachelor of Arts delivered in person on the Antigonish, Nova Scotia campus through the Faculty of Arts. The program introduces students to four anthropological subfields: physical anthropology, archaeology, social anthropology, and linguistic anthropology, beginning with first-year courses that survey these areas before students move into more focused study. The university-wide minimum is an overall Grade 12 average of 70%, with no grade below 65% in each required subject. Applicants whose first language is not English must submit an approved test: IELTS 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0), TOEFL iBT 90 (no section below 20), Duolingo 115 (no subscore below 100), CAEL 70 (no band below 60), PTE Academic 60 (no score below 50), or MET 55, valid within two years of application.
