This program leads to a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, delivered on campus in Calgary, Alberta, drawing on the humanities, arts, and sciences through an interdisciplinary approach that connects multiple fields of study. Students choose a required concentration in one of fourteen areas, including Business and Management, Canadian Studies, Family Studies, Catholic Studies, Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, Drama, English, Philosophy, Biology, Science Studies, History, Psychology, Political Studies, or Sociology, and complete a creative and innovative project in their final year. It develops skills in communication, research, analytical thinking, and problem-solving across disciplines rather than within a single subject area. It suits students who want to explore multiple fields before committing to one, and typically leads to further study such as law, education, or graduate degrees, or to careers in government, education, finance, insurance, or business, in roles such as marketing coordinator, business development agent, tax auditor, or career advisor.
