Program details

Overview

The Kinesiology program at The King's University is a four-year Bachelor of Kinesiology, also offered as a minor, covering human anatomy, physiology, and the body's mechanical and physiological systems. Coursework addresses human movement mechanics, cardiovascular system structure, exercise and fitness physiology, health across different life stages, and the social and cultural factors that shape wellness choices. Instruction is delivered on campus in Edmonton, drawing on faculty research in areas such as exercise physiology, cardiovascular health, cancer survivorship, and fitness in specific populations. The program is designed for students interested in health sciences who are considering careers in areas such as athletic therapy, coaching, physiotherapy, nursing, or paramedicine, and suits students seeking a science-based foundation in human movement and health rather than a purely clinical or purely recreational focus.

Requirements

Minimum GPA: 60.00 / %
Admission Requirements: Admission follows King's general requirements plus the science prerequisites published for the four-year Bachelor of Kinesiology: Mathematics 30-2 (or 30-1) and Biology 30 or Science 30. Applicants also need English 30-1 (or equivalent), three further standard Grade 12 courses, one additional Grade 12 course, and an overall average of 60% or higher; King's admits non-competitively once these thresholds are met. International applicants must satisfy King's English Language Proficiency Requirement: IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 on each band, or TOEFL iBT overall 88 with a minimum of 21 on each section (PTE 59, CAEL 70, or Duolingo 115 overall/95 per section also accepted), unless exempted by three years of full-time English-medium study.

Application Details

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants to The King's University apply directly to the university: for Fall 2026 entry applications opened October 1, 2025 with a regular deadline of June 15, 2026 and a document deadline of September 30, 2026, while Winter 2027 entry opened February 1, 2026 with a regular deadline of December 2, 2026 and a document deadline of January 30, 2027. International applicants follow the same intakes but with an early, reduced-fee deadline ahead of the regular one - April 15, 2027 for Fall 2027 and October 16, 2026 for Winter 2027 - to allow time for study-permit processing, alongside the shared regular deadlines above. King's states it may accept applications after its stated deadlines on inquiry, so admission functions as rolling rather than strictly firm. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
