Trinity Western University's Laurentian Leadership Centre is a live-in extension campus in downtown Ottawa, steps from Parliament Hill, where upper-year students and recent graduates combine upper-level coursework with a work-integrated internship placement. Students earn a Certificate in Leadership and Public Affairs through faculty-taught courses while interning with government, public-policy, media, international-development and non-profit organizations; past placements include Parliament of Canada, the Business Council of Canada, the Canadian Cattle Association, Ottawa Life Magazine, and Cardus. Participants receive personalized placement support, professional mentorship, and academic credit for the internship, and live together in community as part of the program. The Centre reports more than 700 alumni since 2002 and over twenty years of Ottawa partnerships.
Requirements
Minimum GPA:2.75 / 4.0
Admission Requirements: The Laurentian Leadership Centre is a live-in semester extension for TWU upper-year students and recent graduates, not a stand-alone credential. Applicants must complete at least 60 semester hours before the LLC semester begins and hold a minimum average GPA of 2.75. A prerequisite course is also required: POLS 234 (Introduction to Canadian Government & Politics) for most applicants, or BUSI 245 (Foundations of Business Law in Canada) for business students, or an approved equivalent from another institution. Beyond the GPA and course prerequisite, the program evaluates applicants on their academic record and readiness for upper-level coursework, commitment to a living-and-learning community, leadership experience through school, work, ministry, or community involvement, and character reflecting integrity, maturity, and responsibility, alongside past life and work experience. The page does not publish a separate English-proficiency test, reference, or interview requirement for this program.
Application Details
Application Deadline:Trinity Western sets a Fall Early Admission target of 1 March and a Spring Regular Admission deadline of 1 November for Canadian domestic applicants, with Fall Regular Admission continuing on a rolling, space-available basis after 1 March and final high-school transcripts due by 1 August; TWU prints these as recurring annual dates without a specific year. TWU's international (non-US) admissions page states no deadline of its own and refers applicants back to the same general page, so no international-specific closing date is published; TWU does separately publish Fall (15 January early, then rolling) and Spring (15 November) dates for the distinct US-citizen applicant category. Individual graduate programs set their own separate application windows. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
