The PhD in Theological Studies is a doctoral program at Trinity Western University's Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) for students pursuing advanced theological scholarship. The program centres on advanced, integrative study of Old Testament and New Testament exegesis and theology, church history, and systematic theology, and requires original research that engages both historical and contemporary theological questions. Students are prepared to connect theological scholarship with global and ecclesial contexts, for roles in academia, ministry, and institutional leadership. The program is delivered in a hybrid format, combining online study with periods of residence in Langley, British Columbia, with anticipated full-time completion in 44 to 48 months; a part-time option is also available. Total tuition is $27,675 CAD, reflecting TEDS's tuition reduction, and graduates are prepared for scholarly and leadership roles in both the Church and the academy.
