This certificate in Coaching at Universite du Quebec a Chicoutimi is a 30-credit first-cycle programme that develops coaching competencies aimed at transforming traditional management practice. It combines a practical orientation with the development of knowledge, know-how, and interpersonal skills, building understanding of current management innovations, proficiency with continuous-improvement tools, and stronger organizational communication skills. The programme is delivered part-time through synchronous distance learning, admitting students by cohort rather than on a fixed term calendar. It targets managers, supervisors, and professionals already active in an organizational setting who want to build a structured coaching practice without leaving their current role, alongside candidates holding a related certificate or demonstrated management experience. Because it runs by cohort rather than on the standard term calendar, intake timing follows each cohort's own launch date rather than the fall, winter, or summer admission cycle used by most other certificates at the university.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission to the certificate in Coaching follows three routes. Under the college route, applicants must hold a Diplome d'etudes collegiales (DEC) or the equivalent and have two years of relevant experience, together with appropriate management knowledge. Under the university route, candidates must have completed a related 30-credit university certificate and have one year of relevant experience. Under the sufficient-preparation route, candidates must have three years of relevant experience together with appropriate management knowledge. Candidates whose first language is not French must also meet the university's French-language proficiency requirement, demonstrated through a recognized test such as the TCF, DELF/DALF, or the university's own TF-UQAC test, unless exempted.
