This 60-credit master's degree prepares career-changers and non-education graduates to become certified teachers in a secondary-level discipline (French, mathematics, science and technology, or social studies) or in adult education. Offered part-time only, normally over four years (twelve trimesters), the program combines graduate coursework in didactics and educational foundations with supervised practicum placements or a teaching internship, leading to teaching certification alongside the credential. It targets bachelor's-degree holders from disciplines outside education who already have, or are pursuing, a teaching assignment and want to qualify to teach in Quebec secondary or adult-education settings. Admission is offered once a year, in the fall term. Before graduating, students must pass a written French test with a diagnostic component and an oral communication assessment administered at the end of their first year of study.
