The Maitrise en communication sociale (memoire et stage) is a 45-credit Master of Arts at Universite du Quebec a Trois-Rivieres combining a research thesis with a professional internship. The programme develops competencies in problematizing communication situations, analysing qualitative and quantitative data, synthesising information, and presenting findings both orally and in writing, preparing graduates to address complex communication issues from multiple perspectives. Coursework accounts for 27 credits and thesis research for 18 credits, alongside a supervised practicum placement. The programme is delivered on the Trois-Rivieres campus and is offered full-time and part-time, though international students must enrol full-time. The combination of a thesis and a supervised internship distinguishes this stream from the purely research-based Maitrise en communication sociale offered by the same department. Admission is offered in the fall, winter, and summer terms.
