Overview
This Master of Arts in History at Universite du Quebec a Trois-Rivieres is a 45-credit, thesis-based programme integrating disciplinary knowledge to develop research expertise in the human sciences centred on history. The curriculum draws on the Centre interuniversitaire d'etudes quebecoises (CIEQ) for Quebec-focused study while also covering European and American history. Candidates must select a UQTR research director and obtain that director's motivated acceptance as part of admission. The programme serves both recent bachelor's graduates in the humanities and social sciences and professionals already working in related fields. It is offered full-time and part-time on the Trois-Rivieres campus, with admission each fall, winter, and summer term, leading to a Maitrise es arts (M.A.) through completion of an original research thesis.
