Overview

This individualized 45-credit Master of Arts in second-language studies is offered by invitation only, admitting a maximum of four students per cohort, for cases where an existing programme does not fit a student's specific research interests. Applicants build an original, coherent training plan in partnership with a research supervisor within the department, choosing one of three specialization tracks: metacognition, phonetics and phonology, or sociolinguistics. Each track comprises twelve credits of coursework and thirty-three credits of research and thesis work. Because the programme is tailored to each admitted student, the specific documentation required varies according to the applicant's academic background and Canadian residency status. The programme is coordinated by Professor Mariane Gazaille and is based on the Trois-Rivieres campus; admission is currently closed.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission is by invitation only, limited to a maximum of four students per cohort, and requires securing a research supervisor within the department before applying.
