Overview
This Doctorate in Chiropractic (D.C.) at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières is a first-cycle doctoral program delivered full-time on the Trois-Rivières campus. It is the only program of its kind within Quebec's university network and the only francophone university chiropractic program. The curriculum is organized around three areas: foundational biomedical sciences such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and neurophysiology; the chiropractic discipline itself, covering clinical examination, biomechanics, diagnosis, and manual therapy techniques; and extensive clinical training delivered through internships and supervised practicums at the university's chiropractic clinic. Coursework is split roughly evenly between theoretical instruction and hands-on practical work, including laboratory sessions, diagnostic exercises, and applied clinical practice across several internship courses. The program suits students with a strong interest in human anatomy and manual therapy, good manual dexterity, and an investigative mindset, who are aiming toward autonomous clinical practice as chiropractors.

Admission Requirements: Admission to the Doctorate in Chiropractic follows UQTR's per-program application process. Quebec DEC holders qualify via a DEC in Sciences, Letters and Arts; a DEC in Natural or Health Sciences with completed Biology (101-SNU) and Chemistry (202-SNU); a DEC in Physiotherapy with the required Chemistry and Mathematics; or any other DEC completing college-level Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Applicants from outside Quebec need 13 years of pre-university schooling, or 12 years plus one university year covering the same four sciences; university-degree holders qualify by completing the same college-level science courses. As with all UQTR bachelor's and professional programs, candidates must meet the university's French-language admission requirement, using a recognized test such as UQTR's own TIFEI for international applicants (French nationals with a baccalaureat are exempt). Selection also requires the CASPer situational-judgment exam in French (below the 10th percentile is disqualifying, weighted 25%), an in-person interview in Trois-Rivieres (25%) and a prior half-day observation with a practising chiropractor, plus current CPR/AED certification; academic record counts for 50%. The program caps enrolment at 47 places (5 for francophones outside Quebec) and the application deadline is March 1.

Application Deadline:UQTR sets its own admission deadlines by trimester rather than through a shared application service: for the Fall 2027 trimester, undergraduate (first-cycle) applications are due 1 September 2027 and graduate (upper-cycle) applications 28 August 2027, while international applicants at either level must apply earlier, by 1 April 2027; for the Winter 2027 trimester, the undergraduate deadline is 5 January 2027, the graduate deadline is 1 January 2027, and the international deadline was 1 August 2026. UQTR notes that some contingented (limited-enrolment) programmes may carry different deadlines than these general dates, and that after any deadline it reserves the right not to process the application, so admission is firm rather than rolling.
