Admission Requirements: Direct entry is open to holders of a Quebec DEC in Natural Sciences, Sciences Letters and Arts, Computer Science and Mathematics, or the International Baccalaureate in Pure and Applied Sciences. Applicants with another DEC must complete or hold equivalent standing in four prerequisite areas -- biology, chemistry, a three-course mathematics sequence and a three-course physics sequence -- with compensatory Université Laval courses available over up to two sessions for a single missing prerequisite. Applicants from outside Quebec need a secondary diploma plus one year of university study (Canada), or 13 years of pre-university education, or 12 years plus one year of higher education (international), with a background judged satisfactory in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. Non-francophone applicants must demonstrate French proficiency through the Test de connaissance du français (TCF tout public), covering listening comprehension, grammar, reading and written expression; French-as-a-second-language courses and an immersion pathway are available to applicants who fall short.
