BA/BS in Chemistry

The Bachelor of Science with a Major in Chemistry at the University of Alberta spans general and analytical chemistry through to organic and environmental chemistry, with significant laboratory training alongside classroom coursework. Two versions of the major are offered: one accredited by the Canadian Society for Chemistry, described as more structured, and a non-accredited version described as more flexible; an Honors version of the BSc is also available. As with other Faculty of Science majors, students can add an optional minor or double major chosen from more than 60 subjects, or focus on chemistry alone. It suits students who want either a professionally accredited chemistry education or a more flexible science degree built around chemistry.
