This Bachelor of Science with Dental Hygiene Specialization is a post-diploma degree-completion program at the University of Alberta, open only to graduates of the university's own Dental Hygiene Diploma Program rather than direct-entry applicants. Coursework builds on dental hygiene practice with study in research methods, oral health sciences and community engagement, and the exact course-unit requirement, either eighteen or thirty units, depends on the applicant's diploma graduation year, with some earlier or shorter diplomas requiring additional university-transferable units. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Restricted to graduates of the University of Alberta Dental Hygiene Diploma/Program (post-diploma degree-completion route, not open to high-school applicants). All three admission pathways (pre-1998, 1998-2007, and 2008+ graduates) require a minimum GPA of 2.0 in the diploma program plus letters of good standing from the applicant's dental hygiene licensing body; two-year diploma holders (pre-2002/2008+ cohorts) must also complete an additional 30 transferable university course units covering psychology, sociology/humanities, English, and statistics.
