Bachelor of Commerce Honors Operations Management

The Bachelor of Commerce Honors in Operations Management at the University of Alberta is an honors stream within the Operations Management major in the Alberta School of Business, covering the use of computer models, mathematics, process analysis, and business analytics to optimize processes, manage resources, and improve profitability and service. It follows the same general program of studies as the standard Operations Management major, with additional required courses aimed at students who want a more rigorous quantitative program. Students apply for the Honors program after completing Year 2 of the Bachelor of Commerce and must normally present a minimum GPA of 3.7; admission decisions are made jointly by the Undergraduate Office in Business and the department responsible for the program. All applicants must meet the university's English language proficiency requirement. The BCom is offered within a School of Business that provides five degree types, twelve majors, and opportunities such as case competitions and study-abroad programs.
