Hons in Arts Management (HBA)

Arts Management (HBA) is a four-year honours undergraduate program at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC), described by the university as the longest-running arts management program in Canada. The curriculum combines arts, business, and arts-management-specific coursework. First-year courses cover arts and media management fundamentals, audience development, and business foundations; core courses address equity, inclusivity, and diversity in organizational development, financial management, organizational leadership, and legal issues such as contracts and copyright. The program is offered as a Specialist, with a standard stream or a field-placement stream requiring two 300-hour placements at arts organizations; students may also combine the Specialist in Arts Management with a Major or Minor in art history, music, studio, or theatre. Graduates are prepared for roles leading galleries, museums, and performing arts organizations. Program intake is offered in the Fall and Winter terms. Admission is processed under UTSC's OUAC code TUC.
