Overview
The Certificat Supérieur en Sciences de l'Éducation en Français is a graduate certificate offered by Faculté Saint-Jean at the University of Alberta, delivered online in French. It comprises four courses, totalling 12 credits, chosen from an approved list grouped under thematic areas of education: diversity and equity, Indigenous education, language and literacy and curriculum, inclusive pedagogy, and science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Courses are selected in consultation with the graduate program supervisor and Faculté Saint-Jean's administration. All certificate requirements must be completed within four years of first registering in the program. Graduates may apply certain certificate courses toward advanced standing in the Faculté's non-thesis Master of Education program, though completing the certificate does not guarantee admission to the master's program. The certificate is part of the Faculté's broader French-language graduate offerings, alongside its Master of Education and Master of Arts programs.
