Overview
This course-based professional Master of Pathologists' Assistant program prepares students for employment in pathology laboratories through hands-on experience in high-paced medical laboratory settings. Students perform dissections of surgical specimens and autopsies under the direct supervision of a pathologist, alongside 18 courses covering systems pathology, human anatomy, human pathology, and a surgical pathology practicum. The program is based at the University of Calgary's Foothills Campus and takes two years of full-time study to complete. Admission requires a BSc in Biological Sciences, or equivalent, a minimum GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale, a CV, and two reference letters. The program admits students for the September term.
