The Master of Health Science (MHSc) in Laboratory Medicine is a two-year, full-time professional graduate program offered by the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto. It trains clinical laboratory medicine scientists in one of two fields of study, Pathologists' Assistant or Clinical Embryology; applicants apply to only one field. The curriculum combines academic coursework with supervised clinical training relevant to the chosen field. The program is currently open only to Canadian permanent residents, citizens, or refugees and is not accepting applications from international students. No standardized admission test is required, though applicants must meet the University of Toronto's general English proficiency requirement. Graduates earn a Master of Health Science degree and are prepared for clinical roles as pathologists' assistants or clinical embryologists within hospital and laboratory settings.
