Biomedical Engineering (MASc) is a research-based master's program offered by the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto, in a multidisciplinary field that integrates engineering with biology and medicine. Students complete at least 2.0 full-course equivalents, including two of BME1477H, BME1478H, or BME1479H, two half-course electives relevant to their research area, either BME1010H or BME1011H, and JDE1000H, alongside mandatory health-and-safety training and a research thesis defended at completion. Domestic applicants typically secure a faculty supervisor before admission, while international applicants must arrange their own supervisor as part of the application. The program runs full-time over five sessions, roughly twenty months spanning Fall, Winter, and Summer terms across two years, and is delivered in person at the St. George campus.
