Data privacy - Cert

The Graduate Certificate in Data Privacy trains IT professionals to identify the legal and regulatory environment for developing data privacy and security standards and policies, and to assess privacy threats and design solutions. The in-person, course-based program covers private data management, privacy-by-design methods, and privacy policies and standards across four courses, with an expected completion time of four months, subject to cohort scheduling, and a maximum completion time of three years. The program has a single yearly intake starting in the Winter term. Admission requires a four-year undergraduate degree from a recognized institution with prerequisite coursework in computer programming, algorithms and data structures, and either operating systems or computer networks, along with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale over the final two years of full-time study. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet the Faculty of Science's English Language Proficiency requirements.
