Overview
The Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity is offered by the School of Information Studies in the Faculty of Arts at McGill University. It is a course-based program delivered fully online and asynchronously, developed with cybersecurity academics and industry practitioners in collaboration with McGill's Teaching and Learning Services. Coursework covers information security, cyber-attacks and defense, operating systems, network systems, information policy, privacy, and malware, and students use EC-Council and Cyberscore training labs to build applied skills. Part-time students, taking two courses per semester, complete the program in about 10 months; full-time students, taking four courses in Winter and one in Summer, complete it in about 6 months. Graduates of this certificate, together with the Graduate Certificates in Cloud and Operational Technology (OT) Security and in Data Science, may become eligible for the Master of Science (Applied) in Cybersecurity Analytics, a program currently pending formal government approval.
