Overview

The Executive Master of Business Administration at the University of Fredericton is a fully online graduate degree for experienced professionals already in mid-to-senior management roles, typically completed in one and a half to two and a half years at an expected workload of 18 to 25 hours per week per course. Coursework covers leadership theory, financial management, strategic planning, organizational design, and human resources, followed by a choice among 11 specialty streams: Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Consulting, Finance, Global Leadership, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Innovation, Marketing, Professional Selling, and Social Enterprise. Instead of a thesis, students complete a capstone project addressing real business problems. Each course includes one live virtual class per week, held on WebEx on a weekday evening between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The program assumes participants already bring leadership experience to their studies and suits established business professionals seeking to formalize and extend that experience at the executive level.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: The Executive MBA page states that no GMAT is required and that the university evaluates applicants on their undergraduate degree, professional experience, and career potential. For applicants who lack an undergraduate degree, the university's general Admission Requirements page describes two alternative pathways: conditional admission, which requires the applicant to achieve a GPA of 3.0 across their first three courses, or referral into the university's Pre-MBA program, which covers Business Communications, Economics, and Accounting before EMBA study begins. The same institution-wide page sets the English-language proficiency standard for applicants from non-English-speaking countries: a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 88 (or TOEFL CBT 213), IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6, Duolingo English Test 115, or CAEL 70 with no part below 60, subject to the exemptions listed there. The program page adds only that applicants should apply at least four weeks before their chosen start date.
