Drama Education is a combined-degree program at the University of Lethbridge pairing a Bachelor of Arts (Dramatic Arts) or Bachelor of Fine Arts - Dramatic Arts with a Bachelor of Education, taking five years to complete. Students begin in the Faculty of Fine Arts, developing skills in performance, technical theatre and design, directing, dramaturgy and playwriting, before completing the Bachelor of Education component with K-12 classroom experience through the Faculty of Education. The Bachelor of Fine Arts stream offers a more focused fine-arts emphasis in drama, while the Bachelor of Arts stream requires fewer drama courses and allows a more diversified program. A two-year After Degree route is also available for applicants who already hold an approved undergraduate degree. Graduates are prepared to teach drama across a range of K-12 educational contexts, from performance and design to directing full productions.
