The Master of Fine Arts in Theatre and Dramatic Arts at the University of Lethbridge offers intensive studio-based training and creative research in theatre, performance, and interdisciplinary artistic practice, with faculty expertise spanning scripted and devised performance, theatre for young audiences, theatre education, design and technical production, dramaturgy, and theatre history. Students choose a specialization in design, performance, technical direction and production, playwriting, or dramaturgy. Coursework in the first year includes required studio courses, an information literacy seminar for the fine arts, one theatre studies seminar, and two graduate-level electives; in the second year, students focus on thesis research and a culminating production. The program is delivered in person on the Lethbridge campus, with a single Fall intake, and full-time students normally complete the degree in 24 months.
