The French/Spanish program at the University of Lethbridge is offered through the Department of Modern Languages & Linguistics, which also teaches Japanese, from beginner to advanced levels. Instruction in each language is delivered in that language, and coursework covers literature, history, and culture alongside language acquisition. The program can be taken as a Bachelor of Arts major or combined with other credentials, including the Bachelor of Arts & Science, the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education, the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws, and the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Management. Class sizes are kept small, and students can pursue off-campus study in francophone and hispanophone locations, including France, Mexico, Ecuador, Argentina, and Spain, as well as experiential learning through co-operative education and international exchanges. The program is delivered on-campus at the Lethbridge campus, with admission in the Fall and Winter terms.
