This interdisciplinary programme combines molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology and organic chemistry with courses designed specifically for biopharmaceutical science students, preparing graduates to work at the interface of biology, chemistry and health-related sciences. Two options are offered: genomics, focusing on molecular biology and the role of genes and proteins in disease, and medicinal chemistry, emphasizing organic and biological chemistry applied to pharmaceutical development. The 120-unit curriculum includes introductory biopharmaceutical science, biochemistry, genetics, bioethics, biostatistics, general intermediary metabolism, molecular biology, a capstone seminar and introductory pharmacology, alongside foundational chemistry, calculus for the life sciences and physics. It is offered in English and French, with a French immersion stream available. Graduates are positioned for careers in biomedical research, biopharmaceutical development, drug manufacturing and regulation, and meet most requirements for entry into professional programmes such as medicine, law, education and administration.
