Honours BSc Statistics

The Honours BSc Statistics is a 120-unit undergraduate degree at the University of Ottawa that combines mathematical theory with applied statistical methods. The program is accredited by the Statistical Society of Canada, allowing graduates to work toward the Associate Statistician (A.Stat.) professional designation. Statistical training applies problem-solving tools to real-world questions across fields including medicine, business, the social sciences and engineering, giving students the analytical and quantitative skills used in data analysis and statistical modelling. Graduates leave prepared for careers or further graduate study in fields that rely on quantitative analysis. The program is offered in English and in French, includes a French immersion stream, and co-operative education placements are available, allowing students to combine academic study with paid work experience related to their field before graduating.
