The Master of Arts in Political Science at the University of Ottawa's School of Political Studies is offered in French and English, with three routes available: the MA with thesis, the MA with research paper, and the MA with research paper and a co-op option. The program covers eight fields, including international relations, Canadian and Quebec politics, political thought, and comparative politics, alongside emerging areas such as environmental politics and citizenship studies. The research-paper route requires 18 course units. The credential awarded is a Master of Arts (MA) in Political Science. The MA with research paper requires completion of 18 course units in addition to the research paper itself, while the MA with thesis and the MA with research paper and co-op option carry their own additional degree requirements set by the School of Political Studies.
