Overview
Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Regina is an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts completed over four years, combining the three named fields so that students examine contemporary issues through more than one disciplinary lens at once. Rather than treating philosophy, political science, and economics as separate streams, the curriculum integrates them, asking students to apply analytical tools from each field to shared questions about policy, governance, and economic and social organization. The program is delivered within the Faculty of Arts and, like other arts degrees at the university, is offered jointly with the federated colleges, Campion College, First Nations University of Canada, and Luther College. It suits students who are intellectually curious about real-world problems and prefer an integrated approach to studying them rather than committing to a single discipline. The combined skill set the program develops in analysis, argument, and quantitative reasoning is commonly used as preparation for law school, other professional programs, or graduate study. Admission Requirements: The Philosophy, Politics and Economics program page sets out no admission requirements of its own beyond directing applicants to select their student type and consult the Faculty of Arts application guide. Under the University of Regina's general high-school assessment, applicants are judged on a four-course average — English or Français Language Arts, a higher-level math or calculus course, and two further approved math, science, social-science or language courses — with early conditional admission available to Grade 12 students on their Grade 11 and completed Grade 12 marks; for Fall 2027 entry the Faculty of Arts sets that average at 70%. International undergraduate applicants pay a $100 CAD application fee and, unless exempt, must show English proficiency: IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT overall 83 with no section below 20 (tests before 21 January 2026; overall 4.5 on the revised scale afterwards), PTE Academic 59, CAEL 60, or Duolingo English Test 120 overall with a Literacy score of 105.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants to the University of Regina apply for Fall 2027 entry with a recommended early deadline of 15 March 2027 for best course selection and a final new-applicant deadline of 15 August 2027; Winter 2027-28 entry has an early deadline of 1 November 2026 and a final deadline of 15 December 2026, and Spring/Summer 2027 entry closes 15 April 2027. International (study-permit) applicants share the same final deadlines as domestic students for each term but have no separate early deadline. Numerous named programs, including Nursing, Social Work, Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work, Indigenous Fine Arts and Indigenous Education, carry their own earlier deadlines instead of the general dates. Admission is not described as rolling; late non-competitive applications are simply carried to the next term the program accepts.
