BA/BS in Actuarial Science is a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science programme taught at University of Regina in Regina, Canada. The programme runs for 4 years. Tuition for international students is CAD 31,110 per year (CAD 8,888 per year for local students).
This Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science takes four to five years and is offered through the Faculty of Science. It teaches students to apply mathematics, statistics, and risk theory to the design of insurance and pension programs, with coursework in actuarial mathematics and models, finance, accounting, statistics, probability, and economics. The program is accredited by the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, one of only eleven such programs in Canada, and its courses can count toward professional actuarial designations. A one-year internship component lets students earn three credit hours toward the degree while working in the field at insurance, pension, or consulting firms. The program is described as the only one of its kind offered in Saskatchewan. It suits students who are detail-oriented and analytical and interested in a business-facing application of mathematics rather than pure theory. Graduates are described as moving into roles such as actuary, financial analyst, data analyst, investment analyst, budget analyst, and account manager, with the page citing close to full hiring success in the actuarial industry.
