Overview
History at the University of Saskatchewan is a Bachelor of Arts program examining how societies have changed over time, drawing on varied kinds of historical evidence to address subjects ranging from ancient and medieval history to more recent political, cultural and environmental topics. Admission Requirements: Direct entry from Saskatchewan high school is available. The College of Arts and Science recommends Foundations of Mathematics 30 or Pre-Calculus 30, depending on whether the student enters this History program on the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science track; applicants may be admitted with a mathematics deficiency, to be cleared in consultation with the college. The college sets a minimum admission average of 70%, with applications considered on a rolling basis until all seats are filled; applicants below it may be considered for the University of Saskatchewan Transition Entrance Program (USTEP) or special (mature) admission. English proficiency follows the university's general undergraduate standard: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (minimum 6.0 per band), TOEFL iBT 86 (minimum 19 per section; 4.5 overall with 4.0 per section on the new scale for tests from 21 January 2026), Duolingo English Test 120 (minimum 100 per subscore), PTE Academic 63 (minimum 59 per skill), or CAEL 70 (minimum 60 per skill).

Application Deadline:The University of Saskatchewan does not publish fixed general application deadlines for its direct-entry undergraduate colleges (Agriculture and Bioresources, Arts and Science, Education, Edwards School of Business, Engineering, Kinesiology, Dental Hygiene, Dental Therapy): admission requirements and deadlines for the 2027-28 cycle become available only once applications open on 25 September 2026, and the site gives no separate international closing date. Non-direct professional programs set their own dates instead: for September 2027 entry, the College of Law's JD opens 15 October 2026 with rolling review to a 1 February 2027 documents deadline and is not currently accepting international applicants; the College of Medicine's MD applications close 1 October 2026 for domestic (Canadian citizen/PR) applicants only; and the Nutrition program's single deadline is 15 March 2027 for both domestic and international applicants, with no late applications considered. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
