Making the Links: Certificate in Global Health is an interdisciplinary undergraduate credential at the University of Saskatchewan, described by the university as currently the only undergraduate certificate in global health offered in Canada. The program is open to students already admitted to the College of Medicine or the School of Rehabilitation Sciences and is designed to prepare them to work competently with marginalized, under-served communities both locally and internationally. Learning combines interactive, experiential, and didactic components, giving students practical exposure alongside classroom instruction. The certificate requires 15 credit units of coursework, structured across a suggested two-year sequence that runs alongside a student's primary program in Medicine or Rehabilitation Sciences. To remain in good standing and graduate with the certificate, students must maintain a minimum overall annual and cumulative weighted average of 60 percent across all courses counted toward it. The credential recognizes training in global health competencies, including cultural awareness and community engagement skills, for students pursuing careers in medicine and the health professions.
