The Certificate in Mathematical Modelling is a 30-credit-unit undergraduate certificate for students seeking the mathematical fluency needed to formulate, analyze, and evaluate models used across the pure and applied sciences, engineering, and computer simulation. After completing foundational courses such as MATH 211.3 and MATH 238.3, students take MATH 336 (Mathematical Modelling I) and then either continue a broad study of modelling in MATH 436 (Mathematical Modelling II) or specialize in an area such as discrete, continuous, probabilistic, or quantum modelling. The certificate is a two-year program that can be completed full-time or part-time, may be started off-campus, and can be pursued concurrently with another degree program. Applicants may enter directly from high school, and at least half of the required coursework must be completed at the University of Saskatchewan.
