Cert in Mathematics

This Certificate in Mathematics is a 30-credit undergraduate program offered at the Universite de Sherbrooke's Departement de mathematiques, on a full-time or part-time basis, with admission in the fall and winter terms at the Sherbrooke campus. It gives students foundational knowledge across the main fields of mathematics so they can pursue specialized first-cycle studies afterward. All 30 credits are chosen from a set of mathematics and related computer-science courses covering analysis and programming, data structures, discrete mathematics, elements of algebra, introductory and full linear algebra, vector calculus, mathematical models, ring theory, Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometry, numerical methods in linear algebra, real analysis I, II and III, linear optimization, probability, mathematical and inferential statistics, computational statistics, and stochastic processes, or another relevant activity approved by the department. Admission is reserved for students already active in one of the Universite de Sherbrooke's bachelor's programs who wish to include this certificate as a component of their program. The program is open to admission for international students in the regular course of study.
