MA/MS in Kinesiology

This Master of Science in Kinesiology is a thesis-based program with an expected completion time of two years; a course-based alternative is not offered at the master's level. Research is organized around four areas: Indigenous Wellness; Healthy Aging and Chronic Conditions; Child and Youth Development; and Human Performance, drawing on disciplines such as behavioural science, biomechanics, bone research, exercise physiology, and motor learning. Instruction and research take place in person on campus, with students given access to office and laboratory space to support collaborative research and publication. The program is run within a relatively small graduate cohort, and students are encouraged to present their work at major conferences, often within their first year of study. Community engagement and volunteer activities are part of the graduate student experience. Supervisor approval is recommended before applying. The program suits students who want to pursue original research into human movement and health, whether their interest lies in Indigenous health, aging, youth development, or performance science, and who are seeking early opportunities to build a research and publication record.
