Overview

This program, delivered through the University of Saskatchewan's College of Kinesiology, leads to a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and studies the body in movement, covering exercise physiology, gross anatomy, biomechanics, motor learning and control, growth and development, and the psychology and ethics of physical activity. It is a four-year degree that can be taken full- or part-time, with direct entry from high school and the option to begin studies off-campus. In the fourth year, students choose from practicum placements in areas such as athletic therapy, adult fitness management, business, or cardiac rehabilitation, and the college also offers Community Service Learning placements and undergraduate research opportunities. Degree options include the standard program, an Honours stream for students pursuing more advanced study, a professional health and fitness stream, and a combined five-year Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Bachelor of Education for students preparing to teach secondary physical education. Students have access to the college's Physical Activity Complex for laboratory and athletic training. The program suits students aiming for careers in health education, fitness and rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation, or recreation and sport administration, as well as those planning further study in a health profession.
