Strategic Management is a four-year Bachelor of Business Administration Specialist program at the University of Toronto Scarborough examining how the functional areas of a business, including marketing, finance, and human resources, operate and connect. Through Management Strategy or Entrepreneurship streams, students study how organizations define their mission, analyze internal and external environments, and choose how to compete within their industry, building on a first-year curriculum of microeconomics, macroeconomics, calculus for management, and introductory financial accounting, with more than half of the degree's credits in strategic management. A work-integrated-learning component is built into core courses, and an optional co-op stream adds preparatory courses and two or three full semesters (8 to 12 months) of paid work experience without lengthening the program. Admission is through the OUAC Management category (code TSM), requiring an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with six Grade 12 4U/M courses including English, Advanced Functions, and Calculus and Vectors, plus a supplementary application.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with at least six Grade 12 'U'/'M' courses, including required Grade 12 English (ENG4U/EAE4U), Advanced Functions (MHF4U), and Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U); the co-op component of Grade 12 courses is not used for admission. Approximate grade requirements are mid-80s overall (mid- to high-80s for the co-op stream) with a minimum of 70% in English. A supplementary application (SAF) is required, with a possible interview to follow.
