The Master of Sport Sciences (MSS) is a course-based professional graduate program offered by the Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education at the University of Toronto. It is designed for students pursuing applied careers in sport rather than research, combining core coursework with an optional area of concentration in Sport Analytics, Coaching and Performance, or Sport Integrity. Students complete 5.0 full-course equivalents; no thesis is required. Full-time students typically finish in three sessions (about one year), following a Fall-Winter-Summer registration sequence, with a part-time option over nine sessions also available. Instruction is delivered in person on the St. George campus. The program does not require standardized admission tests such as the GRE. Graduates earn a Master of Sport Sciences degree, preparing them for professional roles in sport organizations, coaching, analytics, and sport management.
