Biology at the University of Waterloo leads to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) awarded through the Department of Biology. The program combines graduate coursework with original research, allowing students to conduct research and generate new knowledge across biochemistry, computational biology, ecology and evolution, microbiology, and physiology and cell biology, with the option to customize the program with elective courses from other departments.
