Overview
The Master of Science in Biology (Water) at the University of Waterloo is a research-based graduate program in the Faculty of Science, delivered on the Waterloo campus full-time over 24 months. It combines the standard MSc Biology research training with a collaborative focus on water-related environmental challenges, situating a student's thesis research in areas such as aquatic ecology, hydrobiology, or water-systems biology within the Department of Biology. Students work under a faculty supervisor and complete original research culminating in a thesis. Admission is intended for holders of an honours Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent. The program admits students for the Fall, Winter and Spring terms. It suits students aiming at research or applied careers addressing water quality, aquatic biology, or environmental biology, or as a pathway toward doctoral study.
