The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in German at the University of Waterloo is a research-based doctoral program in the Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies. The program covers applied linguistics, including sociolinguistics, second language acquisition, and computer-assisted language learning, alongside literary and media/film studies, allowing students to develop expertise across multiple areas of German Studies through a multi-foci approach.
