Overview
The PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of Windsor is a research doctorate open to graduates holding a master's degree in applied science (MASc) in civil engineering, or an equivalent qualification, from a recognized university. Applicants with degrees in related fields may be admitted but are normally required to strengthen their background in civil engineering before beginning doctoral research. The program is offered with three annual intakes: Fall (application deadline July 1, scholarship deadline May 1), Winter (deadline November 1, scholarship deadline September 1), and Summer (deadline March 1, scholarship deadline January 1). Applicants whose first language is not English must meet a minimum proficiency standard of TOEFL iBT 83, IELTS 6.5, or PTE Academic 65. Students conduct independent, faculty-supervised research culminating in a doctoral dissertation in a civil engineering specialization.
