Overview
Communication, Media & Digital Culture (formerly titled Communication and Social Justice) is a Master of Arts program at the University of Windsor that examines the political, economic, cultural, social, and historical dimensions of the contemporary media environment. Coursework and independent research cover areas such as advertising and consumer culture, the political economy of social media platforms, privacy and surveillance, gender studies, film theory, and media literacy. The program is designed to be completed in one year and combines seminar-style coursework with a major research project supervised by faculty in the department. It is structured to give students a grounding in critical media and communication theory alongside applied research skills.
